Cllr Pat Evemy has represented Banister & Polygon ward since 2023. She is the city’s Sheriff, a Community Champion for Heritage, and serves on the Audit Committee.
Now retired, Pat previously worked as an advisor on the care and repair of historic churches, following earlier years with an urban regeneration charity. She lives with her husband, also retired, and has two grown-up sons. A keen pub quizzer, Pat is passionate about heritage buildings, local and working-class history, and genealogy. Having once studied at Southampton Art College, she still occasionally returns to sketching and painting.
Pat has lived in the city centre since 1980 and was first elected as a Labour councillor for Bargate while raising her young family, stepping down when she returned to work. After decades of active interest in both local and national politics, she was inspired to stand again in 2023 to represent the community she has called home for more than 40 years.
She values the diversity of Banister & Polygon, with its mix of students, families, and long-term residents, and is especially keen to engage young people in local democracy and ensure all voices are heard.
