Southampton Test has been represented by Alan Whitehead for Labour since 1997. Before being an MP Alan was a city councillor and then leader of the Council between 1984 and 1992.
He served under Jeremy Corbyn as Shadow Minister for Energy and Climate Change and currently is in the front bench team under Keir Starmer as Shadow Minister for Energy.
